Founder

James is an ambitious entrepreneur with expertise in Sales and Marketing. He created STUF with the goal of giving as many underprivileged children as possible access to financial education and critical money skills that will set them up for life. 

“When I left school at 16, I had no grasp of the finance basics. Renting, mortgages, how to manage my money – it was all new to me. Starting your first job and moving out is a challenging time, and all these unknowns made it more stressful. I made misinformed decisions that could’ve been easily avoided with access to the right education. I started STUF because I want to make sure other young people have the chance to avoid making the mistakes I did and feel better informed and more confident when making their first steps into adult life.”

Founder

Jermaine has over 15 years experience in the Tech and Communications sectors. He helped to start STUF with the aim of providing free financial education to children from lower class backgrounds to help set them up for a financially secure future.

“I started working pretty much the second I left school. I’ve always made a decent wage, but even after 20 years of work I didn’t have a huge amount to show for all my efforts. I want to teach children from similar backgrounds as myself how to manage, save and invest money to open up more opportunities and provide them with a better start in life.”

Trustee

Former member of the board of Governors at the Ark Elvin Academy secondary school in Wembley. Tina has had an established career in education and the development of children. With 25 years’ experience in childcare, she’s worked with children from the ages of 2-19.  

“The Set Them Up Foundation is a great cause that will directly benefit children, especially those from low-income households. STUF will give children and young adults a better opportunity to make a great start at their financial futures and I’m proud to be part of it.”

Advisory board member

Zofia has had an established career in Banking and Finance for the past 11 years, she’s currently undertaking a Masters in Gender Studies (Policy & Inequalities) at the London School of Economics and Political Science and supports young people through her role as Community & Sustainability Lead for Westpac’s Youth Network.

“I am passionate about using my background to empower women through education and financial literacy. STUF has real potential to drive change in the lives of young people and I’m excited to be part of the ambitious team.”
